Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Chronosnap at chronosnap.icefish.uk, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the service. Chronosnap is operated by Icefish Research, a company registered in Singapore (“we”, “our”, “us”).

If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom or European Union, you benefit from mandatory consumer protection rights under applicable law (including the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU) which these Terms do not limit or exclude.

2. Service Description

Chronosnap is an AI-powered image generation service. You upload a portrait photograph and select a historical “era pack”; our AI pipeline composites your portrait into period-appropriate scenes and delivers the results as downloadable digital image files. Each generation is a one-time transaction (“order”) that produces digital content delivered to your account gallery.

3. Account Registration

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or such higher age of digital consent as applies in your country) to use Chronosnap.

4. Pricing and Open Beta

Chronosnap is currently in open beta. All core features, including AI image generation, are available free of charge during this period.

We intend to introduce paid premium features in the future. We will provide at least 30 days’ prior notice via the email address on your account before any charges are introduced. Any free features that remain free at the time of that notice will continue to be available free of charge.

When paid features are introduced, all payments will be processed securely by Creem.io. We will not store your card information. You will be responsible for any taxes or import duties applicable in your jurisdiction.

5. Right of Withdrawal and Refund Policy

During open beta (free tier)

While Chronosnap is free of charge, no payment is taken and no right of withdrawal is applicable to the generation service itself. You may stop using the service at any time without any cost.

When paid features are introduced

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you ordinarily have a 14-day right of withdrawal from distance contracts under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU.

For digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, this right is lost once delivery has begun, provided you have given prior express consent to immediate delivery and acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. When paid features are launched, the checkout flow will include an explicit consent step to this effect.

Refunds for technical failures

If a paid generation fails due to a technical error on our side and we are unable to deliver results within 24 hours, you will be entitled to a full refund. To request a refund, email support@icefish.uk with your order ID within 14 days of purchase. We will review and respond within 5 business days.

Nothing in this section limits any statutory rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.

6. Your Content

You retain full ownership of the portrait photographs you upload. By uploading a photo, you grant Icefish Research a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process the image solely to generate your requested composite images. This licence terminates when your images are deleted from our systems.

You warrant that you have the right to upload the photo (e.g., it is a photo of yourself or you have explicit consent from the subject) and that doing so does not infringe any third-party rights. You must not upload photos of other people without their explicit consent.

7. Generated Images

The composite images generated from your portrait are provided for personal, non-commercial use. You may share them on social media or print them for personal enjoyment. You may not resell, sublicense, or use the generated images for commercial purposes without our prior written permission. We reserve the right to use anonymised, non-identifiable example outputs for marketing purposes; you may opt out by contacting us.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload photos that contain nudity, sexual content, or are otherwise illegal.
• Upload photos of minors for the purpose of generating AI composite images.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service or its APIs.
• Use the service to generate content that harasses, defames, or harms any individual.
• Circumvent payment or use the service through fraudulent means.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. For paid orders that have not yet been processed, a refund will be issued upon termination for policy violations.

9. Intellectual Property

All rights in the Chronosnap brand, website design, era pack scene assets, and AI pipeline belong to Icefish Research. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in our intellectual property other than the limited licence to access and use the service as described herein.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Chronosnap is provided “as is”. AI-generated images may vary in quality; we do not guarantee that every generation will meet your aesthetic expectations. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service availability.

Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded under UK or EU law, including rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 in respect of digital content.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Icefish Research shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific order giving rise to the claim.

These limitations do not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable UK or EU law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to access the service ceases. Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability survive termination.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law of your country of residence, which these Terms do not override. The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

If you are a consumer resident in the UK, you may refer disputes to the applicable Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme in your sector. We will provide details of any ADR scheme we subscribe to upon request.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. For material changes, we will notify you via the email address on your account with at least 30 days’ notice before the changes take effect. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may close your account before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
